  • Augmented Reality: the Next Big Shift in Retail Experiences
    02:00 PM - 02:15 PM Jun 1
In 2017, companies are expected to spend more than $1.0 billion on AR/VR solutions to facilitate retail and ecommerce. By 2020, Retail is expected to become the top industry for AR/VR spending. Unlike some sectors where AR seems forced and gimmicky, in Retail this shift is driven by consumer demand. Mobile is already influencing almost 1/3 of all in-stores sales made. 82% of shoppers say they consult their phones on products they are about to purchase in a store. 68% say they spend more time at a retailer's store if they can shop with AR, and two-thirds would like to be able to scan products to see reviews and recommendations. Why? Because these people want to make faster and smarter decisions when shopping. Augmented Reality can be used in retailers' mobile apps to cater to these needs. Discover how and why Augmented Reality and Image Recognition tech will shape the future of retail sales and why you should consider integrating them into your mobile experiences.
