  • Reality's In | Architecture Engineering & Construction
    03:45 PM - 04:00 PM Jun 1
With the onset of Reality-Technology or “The R’s” in the Architecture Engineering & Construction + Operations (AECO) industry we find ourselves at a crossroads of interests. The AECO community are in the midst of a technical revolution from all sides; software, hardware and now in realities. Firms most all have some sort of R&D efforts underway in the AR/VR/MR (& Real-R) realms but few are bringing anything to bear other than tepid interest. If we (AECO) are to reverse the long standing waste in our industries, it is of paramount import that we do more to provide and share solutions. Not to mention to realize the ground-breaking benefits possible once “The R’s” are fully integrated into the IoT and Big Data to be leveraged into the Design, Construction and Operations processes. This session will explore some of the currently available Reality-Technologies and processes that can ‘evolutionize’ the Built Environment; as well as discuss those promising technologies that will ultimately ‘revolutionize’ how we define and execute Design and Construction. The days of design and construction using 3D modeling, let alone paper are limited at best and dead-ends for the latter; it will be from these early days of the Reality-Technologies Revolution where the foundations of future Design and Construction are being laid...
